Main cabin  1996 - 97

We knew that a wooden cabin was likely to cause problems and the long term plan for the boat was to have a steel cabin.   However, this was for the future.  The main aim now was to provide a comfortable living space within the wooden undercloth conversion.

The boat was now fairly watertight and dry, with the new cloths and a repaired roof on the back cabin. It was now time to start the fitting out.

Frames were attached to the sides.  Sometimes these frames were stuck using Sikaflex, sometimes they were bolted onto tangs welded to the hull. Rockwool was used as insulation and a plastic sheet formed the essential vapour barrier.
