Main cabin 1996 - 97
We knew that a wooden cabin was likely to cause problems and the long term plan for the boat was to have a steel cabin. However, this was for the future. The main aim now was to provide a comfortable living space within the wooden undercloth conversion.

The technique was to build a frame which was attached to the sides. Sometimes these frames were stuck using Sikaflex, sometimes they were bolted onto tangs welded to the hull.
Rockwool was used as insulation and a plastic sheet formed the essential vapour barrier.
The boat was now fairly watertight and dry, with the new cloths and a repaired roof on the back cabin.
It was now time to start the fitting out.
